HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE BACK TO THE FUTURE FROM IMDB

The year is 1985 and Marty McFly (Fox) is your everyday teenager, except for one problem. He is stuck in 1955. After his good friend Doc Emmett Brown (Lloyd) is gunned down, Marty ends up sending the DeLorean back twenty years into the past. Now, he must find the Doc and convince him that he is from the future, in order for the Doc to send him back to the future, but this is the least of Marty's problem. After accidentally getting in the way of the important meeting between his future mother (Thompson) and father (Glover), Marty must get them back together before he changes time forever, and destroys his own existence. Written by simon

Marty McFly helps out his friend Doc Brown, and ends up being taken back in time by Doc's time-machine. Marty, a boy of the 80's, has to come to grips with being in the 50's and get his parents to fall in love to set straight the damage his presence has done to the events of the past. Written by Greg Bole {bole@life.bio.sunysb.edu}

Marty McFly, a typical American teenager of the Eighties, is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean "time machine" invented by slightly mad scientist. During his often hysterical, always amazing trip back in time, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love -- so he can get back to the future. HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE BACK TO THE FUTURE FROM DVDTALK

The Movie: One of the most beloved films of the 1980s, "Back to the Future" was one of the films I remember most from my childhood. While the second and third films were not quite as memorable, all three were compelling adventures for all ages - really the kind of upbeat, entertaining films that aren't made much anymore (see also "The Goonies", which came out the same year). Although I doubt there are many who haven't seen this picture already, but to discuss the story: Fox stars as Marty McFly, a teenager (I bought Fox as a teenager when I first saw this film, I don't think I really do watching it again after all these years) who is friends with the town's crazy inventor, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd, in his best performance). Brown requests his presence in the local mall parking lot at 1:15 in the morning. Once there, Doc reveals what he's been working on recently - a time machine that happens to be made out of a De Lorean. After a test run with the Doc's dog as the sole passenger, Marty finds himself jumping into the vehicle to escape the terrorists who Doc tricked to get the radioactive fuel for his machine. Once Marty hits the gas and reaches 88, he finds himself in November of 1955, with no way to get home. Unfortunately for Marty, he's got other problems: he finds that he's got to be the one who causes his parents to meet, which won't be easy - it's not long into the past before he accidentially breaks up a potential meet. Of course, if he parents never meet, he can never be born - a fact that he's reminded of constantly as a photograph of his brother, his sister and himself is becoming progessively less populated.

DADDY DAY CAMP NOW AVAILABLE

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE DADDY DAY CAMP FROM DVDTALK

If you've chosen to watch "Daddy Day Camp," I assume it is because you are a fan of two things: "Daddy Day Care," the 2003 film to which it is a sequel; and bodily functions. If you are indifferent toward those two things, then I cannot urge you in strong enough terms to avoid "Daddy Day Camp." But if you do love those things, then boy howdy, are you ever in for a treat. "Daddy Day Camp" has a naked boy peeing into a toilet while scratching his butt, and a man accidentally eating a bug that was graphically smashed onto a barbecued hamburger patty, all before the opening credits are even finished! From there it is a long, messy ride through scene after scene of farting, peeing, vomiting, and pooping. The screenplay is attributed to three writers. That means if the film's funny parts were divided evenly among them, they each wrote zero. The film answers the question "How bad does a sequel have to be for Eddie Murphy to want nothing to do with it?" He starred, with rotund comedian Jeff Garlin, in the 2003 family flick about two dads who start a daycare center. But neither man was interested in the sequel, so they've been replaced with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Paul Rae ... who are playing the same characters. Not the original characters' brothers, or two different characters in a similar situation, but the same characters. I guess the thinking was that as long as they had a Black Guy and a Fat White Guy, no one would notice the difference. They could just as easily have gotten Martin Lawrence and George Wendt, or Chris Tucker and James Gandolfini. (Actually, I would watch that movie.)

HERE IS A REVIEW OF THE MOVIE FRACTURE FROM DVDTALK

Jennifer Crawford (Embeth Davidtz) has already had a long day of hotel sex with her illicit lover when her husband, an aeronautics engineer named Ted (Anthony Hopkins), corners her into a honey-we-need-to-talk discussion. "I don't think I can do one of these tonight," she says wearily, "one of these" apparently being an intense, unwinnable conversation relating to Ted's emotional neediness. Ted says he loves her; she clearly does not love him back. She loves Rob Nunnally (Billy Burke), her cop boyfriend, and Ted knows about the affair. So Ted shoots her in the head.

Many a film has ended there, but "Fracture," a tauntingly clever cat-and-mouse thriller, uses it as the jumping-off point. Ted the engineer has engineered an elaborate scheme. He knew it would be his wife's lover who would come to the house to arrest him after the gardener heard shots fired, and he knew the fact that the arresting officer was sleeping with the victim would screw things up in court. He's also worked out a very neat trick: Somehow, Ted's gun, the one he shot Jennifer with, the one that was taken from him when he was arrested -- somehow, ballistics reports indicate that gun has never been fired.

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE THE COVENANT FROM DVDTALK

Background:

There exists in society a market for just about every type of movie you can imagine,from the silly kiddy fare offered by Disney to the hardest of hardcore offered up by the jaded veterans of Chatsworth, California. Since we all have different levels of expectation and tastes for what we find appealing, your mileage may vary when reading a review because of this. That makes any review suspect since no one can speak to all folks and taking the middle ground all but guarantees the kind of mediocrity you'd expect from one who sits on the fence about everything. Well, today's review of the upcoming release of The Covenant won't be one of those reviews so stick with me for a moment while I explain what type of movie it is, who might like it, and why it works or doesn't work for the supposed market it addresses.

Movie: The Covenant is a movie about a group of gifted teenagers at a high end prep school in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Their families were the founders of the colony hundreds of years ago and the titular covenant was the pact that they made to follow certain rules to keep themselves safe from the puritanical populace in the state. The premise of their gifts is that they are all warlocks, with powers passed down throughout the ages by blood, so the secrets they keep provide them with a measure of security from the mundane mortals that happen to comprise the vast majority of the citizenry. References to Salem's witch hunts are made in the movie and it is clear that secrecy is one of their greatest allies to achieving longevity. So far, so good, right?

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FROM IMDB

In the not-so-far future the polar ice caps have melted and the resulting raise of the ocean waters has drowned all the coastal cities of the world. Withdrawn to the interior of the continents, the human race keeps advancing, reaching to the point of creating realistic robots (called mechas) to serve him. One of the mecha-producing companies builds David, an artificial kid which is the first to have real feelings, especially a never-ending love for his "mother", Monica. Monica is the woman who adopted him as a substitute for her real son, who remains in cryo-stasis, stricken by an incurable disease. David is living happily with Monica and her husband, but when their real son returns home after a cure is discovered, his life changes dramatically. A futuristic adaptation of the tale of Pinocchio, with David being the "fake" boy who desperately wants to become "real". Written by Chris Makrozahopoulos {makzax@hotmail.com}

In this futuristic fairy tale, "David", a highly-advanced robotic boy, hopes to become a real boy so that he can win back the affection of the human mother who abandoned him. Like Pinocchio, he goes on a long journey hoping to find his "Blue Fairy," who can make his dreams come true. Written by jgp3553@excite.com

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FROM DVDTALK

The Movie:
Several years ago, director Stanley Kubrick had several projects in development that he was considering. One, "A.I.", certainly had his interest, but he had decided that special effects were not quite to the point that could work for the kind of undertaking that would be required. While he waited, he filmed "Eyes Wide Shut", but unfortunately, passed away shortly after. It turned out though, that during that time, Kubrick was communicating with director Steven Spielberg about having him direct "A.I." instead.
The movie is sort of "Pinocchio" crossed with "E.T.", with touches of "Tron", "Blade Runner" and several other pictures. Taking place in the future, global warming has caused the ice caps to melt and oceans have swallowed up any seaside cities (New York, etc). The effects used to create the sunken Manhattan make those of "Deep Impact" look primitive by comparison. During this time, population growth is limited and robots are brought in to fill in the gaps. Professor Hobby (William Hurt), who leads Cybertronics, is able to come up with a prototype robot named David (Haley Joel Osment), a robot child who can actually feel and understand love. The company believes that employee Henry Swinton (Sam Robards) and his wife Monica (Frances O'Connor) are candidates to take care of David, since their only son Martin (Jake Thomas) is critically ill and frozen until a cure for his illness can be found. The company believes that David can be a "substitute" of sorts. Originally, it's Monica who is completely against any such idea and Henry who is positive about the introduction of the boy-bot. As time goes by and Martin gradually makes a suprise recovery though, things slowly change. Monica has gotten used to David and even begun to love him while Henry has grown to distrust the boy. After a particular incident, Monica is forced to take David back - but rather than have him be destroyed by the company he came from, she sets him free in the woods, with only a super-toy stuffed bear called Teddy, who is a real scene-stealer. Anyways, this sequence bridges the gap from what would be considered the first part of the movie into act two. David falls in with a group of robots in the woods who are quickly caught by a group (lead by Brendan Gleeson) who run a "flesh fair" where real humans are entertained by watching robots be destroyed in horrifying ways. David latches onto one of the closest bots, Gigolo Joe (Jude Law, in one of his many terrific performances) and asks for protection. After the audience rises up, David and Joe are allowed to go. David is searching for a mystical creature that can "turn him into a real boy"; I won't give away the exact nature of it.
