HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE SAW IV FROM IMDB

Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Now, upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grizzly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences. Written by Lionsgate

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE SAW IV FROM DVDTALK

  • When we last left the "Saw" franchise, Jigsaw was revealed to be a victim of a broken heart (awwwwww), and the producers bent over backwards to cram new, outlandish twists into this head-slappingly dreadful franchise, hopeful to extend the profit trail long enough before horror fans start to realize they're being taken advantage of. After four of these harebrained features, I'm starting to think the audience enjoys the violation.
  • With Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and Amanda (Shawnee Smith) dead, two FBI profilers (Scott Patterson and Athena Karkanis) are called in to assist Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) with his investigation of the homicides and elaborate torture devices Jigsaw left behind. When SWAT Commander Rigg (Lyriq Bent) is kidnapped and set off on game giving him 90 minutes to survive a series of traps, the cops are in close pursuit, leading them to the doorstep of Jigsaw's former ladylove Jill (Betsy Russell), where a few answers about Jigsaw's macabre modus operandi are provided, along with chilling plans for the future.

  • There's a built-in audience for the "Saw" films at this point in the game. I get that. What I find more confusing about this phenomenon is the adoration of such amateurish filmmaking and feverishly corner-cutting, logic-be-damned screenwriting. "Saw" has become a Halloween staple, now in its fourth year of bloodshed production. The previous entries in the franchise have been laughably acted, frightfully directed exercises in voyeurism, somehow equating the salivating display of blunt ultraviolence and fountains of gore with a social message on appreciating the brevity of life. Would it be shocking if I wrote that "Saw IV" is simply another serving of the same stale soup?

  • There's really no reason to shake up the series at this point, since prior "Saw" sequels have been rewarded with bewilderingly ardent fans and impressive (if not blockbuster) box office returns. "Saw IV" is only trying to reheat the Jigsaw myth into pliable form to stretch the material for two more planned sequels after this, and for that goal alone, the latest round of sadistic traps and melodramatic tribulations is a great success. As for elements like "acting" and "suspense," the latest "Saw" feature still leaves a lot to be desired.

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE SUPERBAD FROM IMDB

Two co-dependent high school seniors (Hill and Cera) are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to stage a booze-soaked party goes awry.

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE SUPERBAD FROM DVDTALK

Just when you thought the raunchy teen comedy was dead and buried, here comes "Superbad" with its frontal assault of sex, drinking, nerds, chases, mischief, drugs, cursing, high school, bad fashions, gunfire, liquor store robbery, lube, separation anxiety, romance, and laser-precise portrayal of adolescent friendship. It makes one wonder what the world saw in that piece of muddled garbage titled "American Pie" not so long ago.

Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) are two best friends living out their final weeks of high school before they face the future at different colleges. When the opportunity to attend a rowdy party is presented by the objects of their desire, they offer to buy the booze, forcing the guys to include dork Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) simply because he's the proud owner of a new fake ID. What transpires next is a citywide expedition involving misbehaving cops (scene-stealers Seth Rogan and Bill Hader), detergent-bottled booze, miscommunication, and desperation as the boys power their way through the night to realize their dream of inebriated sex with their dream ladies.

Make no mistake, "Superbad" is a caustic, frighteningly obscene teen comedy that spits on and completely ignores the lines of taste. It's a rowdy film, another product from the three-ring circus of producer Judd Apatow, acting as a curious counterweight to the similarly crewed-up "Knocked Up" from earlier this summer. All expectation of sensitivity and kindness should be placed aside when walking into this unruly picture.

Is becoming a woman analogous, in some deep psychological way, to becoming a werewolf? Ginger is 16, edgy, tough, and, with her younger sister, into staging and photographing scenes of death. They've made a pact about dying together. In early October, on the night she has her first period, which is also the night of a full moon, a werewolf bites Ginger. Within a few days, some serious changes happen to her body and her temperament. Her sister Brigitte, 15, tries to find a cure with the help of Sam, a local doper. As Brigitte races against the clock, Halloween and another full moon approach, Ginger gets scarier, and it isn't just local dogs that begin to die. Written by {jhailey@hotmail.com}

HERE IS A REVIEW OF THE MOVIE GINGERSNAPS FROM DVDTALK

Werewolves are a bit long in the tooth in horror circles. Michael Landon was a teenage lycanthrope. So was Michael J. Fox. There was a little picture called American Werewolf in London that a few zillion folks may have seen. Truth is, there hasn't been that much to howl about since the Scream mushroom cloud irradiated all creativity from the genre. Bleak times indeed for gorehounds. School shootings didn't help. Scissor-happy studios didn't either. But truly creative people don't pay much mind to such things. They hire creature FX gurus, mix big ol' vats of stage blood, and bravely go where society and the all-mighty dollar warns them against. Folks like John Fawcett and Karen Walton just do it anyway. They made a picture that's as morosely witty as it is grotesque. They sharpened the teeth of the time-worn werewolf flick and created what will easily become a genre classic. They made Ginger Snaps (2000, 108 minutes). Inexplicably, it only garnered a spotty release on U.S. screens and a skeletal domestic DVD, so we must gleefully thank Canada for this richly-deserved special edition.

Barry B. Benson, a bee who has just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue us.

HERE IS A REVIEW OF THE MOVIE BEE MOVIE FROM DVDTALK

Jerry Seinfeld. Funny guy, right? After all, he's one of the masterminds behind "Seinfeld," perhaps one of the most outstanding sitcoms ever created. This is why "Bee Movie" will go down as one of the more bewildering misfires of the year.

A graduate of his hive, Barry Benson (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) is heading off to his job procuring honey for his community of bees (including Matthew Broderick). When the reality of the dull work day hits him, Barry takes off to New York, finding himself communicating with Vanessa (Renee Zellweger), a sympathetic human to the bee world. When Barry gets wind of rampant honey abuse, he takes humans to court, battling for control of the golden delight. Now rich with power, Barry is shocked to learn a bee's place in the world is far greater than he ever imagined.

As if there wasn't enough money in Seinfeld's coffers, here he comes to milk the lucrative family film market. Blessed with children himself, Seinfeld wanted to make a movie that would hold some appeal to youngsters, so bid adieu to the cynical, bracing material that made his television show so pleasurable and say hello to bright magic marker colors, groan-inducing puns, and paint-by-numbers screenwriting. What better way to reach young audiences than to utilize the same exact CG-animated template Hollywood has been abusing for over a decade now?

To be fair, "Bee Movie" isn't a wide-awake nightmare. In fact, it's pretty darn cute when it can summon up a little invention, envisioning a scale-appropriate world for the bees and their foibles. There's also something to be said about Seinfeld's enthusiasm for the material he co-wrote. He takes the word "animated" very seriously.

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE DAN IN REAL LIFEFROM IMDB

Dan Burns (Carell) is a single father who dedicates his life to his children, but one day he meets Marie (Binoche) at a bookstore. They get to know each other, but then Dan finds out that Marie is actually dating his brother, Mitch Burns (Cook). Written by Marisa_Gabriella

HERE IS A REVIEW OF THE MOVIE DAN IN REAL LIFE FROM DVDTALK

"Dan in Real Life" is a sitcom fighting to discover its own identity. A film with a peculiar improvisational energy running through its veins, "Dan" is a delightful motion picture, especially when it combats the fatigue of formula, trying to smuggle in astute characterizations between moments of traditional Hollywood romantic comedy hoo-ha.

Dan Burns (Steve Carell) is a popular newspaper columnist, a lonely widower, and a father to three girls in all stages of growing pains. Packing up the clan to head to his parents' house for a yearly family reunion (including John Mahoney and Dianne Wiest), Dan is thrust into the whirlwind of his brothers and sisters, who all want the best for his heart. Sojourning to a local book store, Dan encounters Marie (Juliette Binoche), and the two strike up immediate romantic chemistry. Returning home with renewed hope for himself in the relationship department, Dan's fragile life is crushed when Marie arrives at the house as well, only as the new girlfriend to his brother Mitch (Dane Cook).

Most of the emotional heavy lifting found in "Dan" is accomplished by Carell and his ease with wounded moments or acts of humiliation. A relative newcomer to leading roles, Carell pulls off the complicated internal processes of Dan without relying on his famous comedic shtick. Sure, there are scenes that require Carell to dance his way out of a crisis, and I'd be lying if I didn't mention how glad I was to see the actor adding his own bit of funny business to dull the jagged pieces of formula that are scattered precariously around the picture; however, Dan's troubles are the organic stuff romantic comedies are made of and Carell makes his own choices here. His skill at expressing Dan's desires, resentment, and disgust are truly gifted bits of acting.

It also helps Carell's efforts to have such impossibly lovely chemistry with Binoche, who captivatingly giggles and winces her way around a rare American production. Deserving an Oscar for her ability to sell a romantic relationship with Dane Cook, Binoche smolders and whimpers her way around "Dan," and her scenes with Carell play both comedically and authentically as constipated acts of affection.

WAR NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE WAR FROM IMDB

After his partner Tom Wynne (Terry Chen) and family are killed apparently by the infamous and elusive assassin Rogue (Jet Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Jason Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels into a vortex of guilt and betrayal. Rogue eventually resurfaces to settle a score of his own, setting off a bloody crime war between Asian mob rivals Chang (John Lone) of the Triad's and Yakuza boss Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi). When Jack and Rogue finally come face to face, the ultimate truth of their pasts will be revealed. Written by CartmanKun@aol.com

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE WAR FROM DVDTALK

The idea of "War" is far more pleasant than actually sitting through "War." Pitting Jason Statham vs. Jet Li in an action smorgasbord is a delicious concept, with both men in the prime of their knuckle-sandwich career. It's a downright shame that the resulting film is an unforgivable, horrifically knotted bore that wastes so much promise in the hunt for mediocrity.

Rogue (Jet Li) is an icy, unstoppable assassin pulled into a scheme that has him playing two sides of a Yakuza crime family war. Jack Crawford (Jason Statham) is a FBI agent on the hunt for Rogue, looking to catch the man responsible for killing his partner years earlier and ruining his life. With Jack and his squad getting closer to Rogue, the hitman steps up his assault, hoping to manipulate the situation in a way that leaves him the only man left standing.

The thing to realize about "War" is that this is far from a simple-minded exercise in cinematic hurt. The script by first-time writers Lee Anthony Smith and Gregory J. Bradley is an elaborate construct, trying to wedge beloved action formula inside a complex mystery surrounding Rogue and his puppet mastery of the criminal underworld. I applaud the effort of the writers to at least try and up the stakes in a brain-dead genre, but the final cut of the picture looks as though someone pulled it apart in post-production and forgot how the pieces fit. It's not a total mess, but "War" tends to get dizzy trying to keep the plot afloat.

Music video veteran Philip G. Atwell doesn't so much direct "War" as much as he fights to hold it together, hiding behind a thick wall of hack visual tweaks to keep the attention away from logic and quality. Atwell is pretty much useless throughout the feature, numbly arranging the scenes from a newbie helmer playbook (including a glass-shattering finale) and generally lacking the nerve to stamp a real personality on the whole endeavor. Editor Scott Richter makes matters worse by chopping the film to pieces, constructing fight sequences that make little sense and rob "War" of the only thing it had in its corner: crisp brutality.

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FROM IMDB FOR THE MOVIE EPIC MOVIE

All of your favorite 'Epic Movies' receive the satire treatment in this outrageous comedy from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, '2 of the 6' writers of Scary Movie. Kal Penn, Adam Campbell, Jayma Mays and Faun Chambers star as four troubled orphans from four separate movie scenario's who are bind together in a wacky chocolate factory after receiving golden tickets to go on an 'epic adventure.' After they escape from the clutches of a very scary Willy Wonka (Crispin Glover) they discover the magical world of 'Gnarnia' through an enchanted wardrobe. There they must seek the help of a randy lion, a hoard of mutants from the x academy, students of witchcraft and wizardry, funky swash-buckling pirates and a mischievous beaver to defeat the evil white bitch! A movie of Epic Proportions indeed! Written by MovieMagic

The twisted minds of two of the six writers of "Scary Movie" tackle the biggest mega-blockbusters of all time in "Epic Movie." The story centers on four not-so-young orphans: one raised by a curator at the Louvre (where an albino assassin lurks), another a refugee from Mexican "libre" wrestling, the third a recent victim of snakes on her plane, and the fourth a "normal" resident of a mutant "X"-community. The hapless quartet visits a chocolate factory, where they stumble into an enchanted wardrobe that transports them to the land of Gnarnia (with a "G"). There they meet a flamboyant pirate captain and earnest students of wizardry - and join forces with, among others, a wise-but-horny lion to defeat the evil White Bitch of Gnarnia. HERE IS A REVIEW OF THE MOVIE EPIC MOVIE FROM DVDTALK.

In 10 Words or Less
What? Was the name "Crappy Movie" taken?

Reviewer's Bias*
Loves: Parodies, Fred Willard
Likes: Jayma Mays, Jennifer Coolidge
Dislikes: The state of parody today
Hates: This movie and everything it stands for

The Movie
After suffering through this mercifully short moviette, I was tempted to take my review of Date Movie, change the appropriate names and just reprint it. After all, it certainly feels like that's what the filmmakers did. You can't tell me a lot of thought went into a movie where simply recreating a scene from a bad movie like Nacho Libre is supposed to pass for comedy.

There's a whole lot of recognition-as-humor at work here, and a severe paucity of actual jokes, as four supposed orphans are pulled from their respective movie lives in Nacho Libre, The Davinci Code, Snakes on a Plane and X-Men, to visit a strange pale man with a chocolate factory (who for some odd reason is played by respected nutbar Crispin Glover.) That only one of these films could be even remotely considered epic doesn't seem to matter, as the only qualifications for inclusion in this parody is a mention on MTV in the past year. Thus, we get Paris Hilton and Borat "jokes" for NO DAMN REASON.

Once we gather our cast together, we plunge into the next set of referential material, centered mainly on the Chronicles of Narnia, but inexplicable including Pirates of the Caribbean, "Saturday Night Live," the Pussycat Dolls and... Click. Hey, I like Click. I credit it with inspiring me to change my life. But whoever thought this mildly successful Adam Sandler film needed to be the subject of a weak "parody" in a film that has nothing at all related to the original, should really be forced to watch the Zucker brothers' early flicks non-stop for a few years.

Maybe if they did, we'd stop getting these big-screen Mad Magazine articles and get truly fun and entertaining parodies like Airplane, High Anxiety or Not Another Teen Movie. The secret (apparently a well-kept one) is to stick to the concept and make something new, but similar, instead of simply photocopying the inspiration and drawing a mustache on it. Bodily functions don't mean laughs either. And even when the film somehow stumbles onto something that works, like joking about the Harry Potter cast getting too old to play their characters, the joke doesn't go anywhere, until the dead horse is thoroughly beaten.

Despite the film being overwhelmingly dated and unfunny, there actually are some things to like about it. The first one is wide-eyed Jayma Mays, best known as Hiro's girlfriend on "Heroes." Absolutely adorable and able to portray her character's naive silliness wonderfully, she single-handedly manages to keep you from throwing your remote through the TV. The second positive is Darrell Hammond's utterly over-the-top imitation of Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Carribbean character. The film could have used him to better effect, wasting his screen time on an unneeded music video parody, but he's undeniably goofy and fun.

There's no way you could argue that this is a good movie, but it can be a conversation piece. You can ask your friends why Jennifer Coolidge, Fred Willard and Tony Cox keep doing these movies? Why would a character simply breaking into a hip-hop dance ever be considered comedy? Isn't the idea of a "Cribs" parody a bit old at this point? Crispin Glover?

The DVD
Can't say anything about the packaging, as we received an early screener, but the disc features an animated anamorphic-widescreen main menu, with options to watch the film, adjust languages, select scenes and check out special features. Annoyingly, the menu is hosted by one of the film's minor characters, which will make you want to get clicking quickly. Language options include English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Spanish and French Dolby Digital 2.0 tracks, while subtitles are available in English and Spanish, along with closed captioning.

The Quality
The anamorphic widescreen transfer is cut down a bit by Fox's watermarking, so there are noticeable digital artifacts during any action scenes, but outside of that, the film looks pretty solid, with a clean image, vivid color and no dirt or damage.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is as good as you're going to get for a comedy like this, with clear dialogue, very strong music and clean sound effects. There's some dynamic sound in the sides and rear in places, and the music gets pumped throughout the room to enhance the sound.

The Extras
Normally, when I see three screens of extras, I get pretty excited. When I saw that this film had three screens of extras, I wanted to cry. It meant I would be spending more time with a movie I really can't stand. And worse yet, thanks to a commentary by writer/directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, I had to suffer though it all again, and incredibly, this time it was worse. I'm sure these two financially successful filmmakers think they are clever, but this Andy Kaufman-like track, in which they talk about a film that you aren't watching, is a dreadful bore. It would have been a nice joke for a few minutes, but to keep it up for the whole film was a serious mistake. As a result it is only slightly more interesting than "Breaking Wind: An Epic Journey into the Sounds of an Epic Movie," which adds bodily sounds to the film. It was cute the first time it was done, on Wet Hot American Summer, but it's not so cute now.

If three viewings wasn't enough, how about a fourth? "How Gratuitous" adds icons throughout the film, when there are "hotties" to exploit, which can be clicked to see more sexy, sexy footage. The whole idea is executed quite awfully, as it's actually the opposite of gratuitous. One scene, which includes a naked girl, is supplemented by shots of the girl in a bikini. What a treat! Worse yet, there are several scenes with don't have extra footage, where you'd actually want it, like Carmen Electra's dance scene.

Seven featurettes are included, none of which make much sense, though "Epic Porn," which asks the cast what they would name their porno film, is edited to humorous effect. Honestly, I smiled more during these featurettes than during the film itself. "Everyone Loves Beaver: Epic Hook-Ups" spends about four minutes looking at the relationships in the film, while "Making the Video: Lazy Pirate Day" is a parody of the MTV behind-the-scenes series, covering the making of this scene. The 10 minute length is padded by including the scene here as well. "What Makes Aslo so Irresistible?" is just an excuse to talk to Fred Willard more, after spending a good deal of time with him in two Fox Movie Channel clips, "Making a Spoof" and "In Character with Fred Willard." That leaves "Hot or Not: Character Turn On's and Turn Off's" to finish things off, as several of the film's characters talk about their desires. It seems like most of these would have fit better on Date Movie.

Some cut footage is also included here, in the form of some outtakes and an alternate ending. Don't get your hopes up for anything different in the alternate ending, as it's just plain stupid. The outtakes are a little better, but not very, with the exception of Kal Penn's humorous ad libbing.

"Die Libre" is the winning short film from the Epic Movie Viral Video contest. An amateur film that mashes up Nacho Libre and Die Hard, it's a cute little movie, worth at least one look. The last extra is the trailer Reno 911!: Miami.

The Bottom Line
It takes a special kind of film to make the worst "Saturday Night Live" sketches look well-crafted and hysterical by comparison. Epic Movie is that movie. If seeing things you recognize sends you into hysterics, you better strap yourself down before watching this movie, because that's about all you're going to get, with some bathroom fluids and sounds mixed in. The quality of the DVD is pretty high, much higher than the quality of the film itself, and there's a boatload of extras, though many of them are of the pointless variety. You've got to be a masochist to give this a look, but you can't be stopped from hurting yourself. That's obvious from the amount of money this movie took in at the box office.

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE THE FAMILY GUY MOVIE FROM DVDTALK

The Movie:

  • Out of the small animation boom that happened a couple of years ago (see also "Futurama", "Clerks", "Dilbert" and a couple of WB animated shows I can't remember the names of) came "Family Guy", one of the most hilarious and controversial shows that Fox has aired. A mixture of "The Simpsons" and the darkest parts of "Married With Children", the TV-MA show seemed to take pride in pushing the limits and seeking out as many targets in current society to goof on as possible. The show developed a cult audience that followed it despite Fox's frequent shifts in the show's timeslot.
  • For those unfamiliar with the show, it focuses on the Griffin family, residents of Quahog, Rhode Island. Peter (creator Seth MacFarlane) is the heavy-drinking father who works in a toy factory, Lois (Alex Borstein of "Mad TV") is the calm leader, Meg (Mila Kunis of "That 70's Show" and Lacey Chabert for the earlier episodes) is the insecure daughter, Chris (Seth Green) the chubby and dim-witted son, Brian (MacFarlane) is the alcoholic dog who talks and Stewie (creator Seth MacFarlane earned an Emmy for his voice work on the character) is the diabolical baby who is bent on world domination.
  • The show's cult following and success on DVD had Fox reconsidering the show's cancellation, bringing it back for a new season (one episode's parody of A-HA's "Take On Me" video is one of the funniest things I've seen in ages) and this feature-length flick, which is essentially a lengthy episode of the show (the movie will be broken up into three episodes and broadcast on TV.)

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE VACANCY FROM DVDTALK

There's something to be said about efficiency, especially in a spooky suspense picture. There's no berry sweeter than a chiller that doesn't allow itself to be swallowed by excess or indulgence. "Vacancy" is a furious get-in-and-get-out viewing experience, and it's a humdinger of a thrill ride.

David and Amy Fox (Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale) are an unhappy couple taking a road trip together before they finalize their divorce plans. When their car breaks down on a secluded country road, the couple takes up residence at the Pinewood Motel, run by the unnerving Mason (Frank Whaley). Once settled in their ramshackle room, David and Amy determine their car troubles were no accident, and this ominous motel room might cost them their lives.

Director Nimrod Antal made quite a splash on the international cinema scene years back with the brooding "Kontroll." A stylish thriller set in the Hungarian subway system, Antal showed imagination and ease with unsettling images. "Vacancy" ushers Antal into the Hollywood system and either through luck or talent (I'm betting on the latter), he's ducked under many of the traps laid for thriller filmmakers to create a picture that's heavy on frightening might and menace, and unsettlingly light on stupidity.

"From the producers of Road Trip and Old School!" I guess that plays better than "From the writers of The Cat in the Hat!" Don't let that taint your perception of Eurotrip, though. The movie comes courtesy of Seinfeld scribes David Mandel, Alec Berg, and Jeff Schaffer, and although their screenplay doesn't boast the level of wit that propelled that TV series to the top of the ratings, it's one of the funnier teen comedies from the past couple of years.Eurotrip begins with Scotty (Scott Mechlowicz) getting dumped at graduation by his girlfriend Fiona (Smallville's Kristen Kreuk). He's consoled by a longtime German pen pal who suggests hooking up with him in the U.S., and Scotty not being up for rape and evisceration at the hand of some dude off the Internet, he drunkenly sends an e-mail telling him off. Scotty groggily wakes up the next morning and realizes that "he" isn't a "he", but a stunning blonde bombshell. Unable to send Mieke an apology message or to dig up her phone number, Scott, spurred on by his best friend Cooper (Jacob Pitts), decides to make a not-so-predictable trip to Berlin to tell her how he feels in person. Without enough cash to head directly to Germany, they land in London instead, meeting up with their twin pals Jamie and Jenny (Travis Wester and Michelle Trachtenberg) as they trek across the continent. Of course, they stop and see the sights along the way, including a visit to a nude beach in France, wolfing down brownies in Amsterdam, hitting the red light district, and taking a tour of the Vatican, none of which go quite the way they expect.

SMALLVILLE SEASON 7 SPOILERS FROM SPOILERFIX

SMALLVILLE SEASON 7 SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO ARE HERE

HERE ARE THE SPOILERS FROM SPOILERFIX.COM

Episode 7.06: Lara
Airdate: November 1, 2007

  • 10/17 - Zor-El is being played by Christopher Heyerdahl. Source: KryptonSite
  • 10/14 - Clark learns Kara is in Washington searching for the crystal. Kara is captured after she breaks into the lab and sedated with a kryptonite-infused truth serum. The serum causes her to relive a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark's biological mother, Lara (guest star Helen Slater), to the Kent farm. Clark arrives in time to save her but, after searing the machine with heat vision, he also falls victim to the serum and sees what Kara sees: his mother. Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. Source: The CW
  • 09/02 - The role of Zor-El might be played by Kevin Sorbo of Hercules: The Legendary Journey's fame, though this has not yet been confirmed. A red and blue blur (Kara) is reported to be seen over the Washington, D.C. skyline, though before you get excited, she isn't there to see Martha Kent. Kara is kidnapped by a government agent who has realized the connection between her and her crashed ship. Chloe discovers a secret that Lana is keeping from Clark. Source: KryptonSite
  • 08/17 - Some government agents have an aquamarine crystal in their possession. The crystal came from Kara's ship. While they are studying it, an intrigued Lex enters the lab. Roles now being cast for the episode include a Hallwell Guard, Lead Tech, Manager, and Kevin. No title for this episode is known at this time. Erica Durance (Lois) does not appear in this episode. We'll also see Kara's father, Zor-El, in this episode. Source: KryptonSite
  • 08/06 - Former Supergirl star Helen Slater will appear in an episode of The CW's Smallville next season, Variety reported. Slater is set to guest star in the sixth episode of the season as the aunt of the show's Supergirl, played by Laura Vandervoort. Source: Sci Fi Wire [Note: It could mean that she'll play Clark's birth mother, Lara.]

Episode 7.07: Wrath
Airdate: November 8, 2007

  • new 10/29 - Kryptonite and high voltage mix during a lightning storm, causing Lana to absorb Clark's powers. Using her newfound super powers, she breaks into Lex's safe and steals incriminating evidence which she then delivers to Lois and Grant, demanding they run a story exposing Lex's secrets. After Grant refuses to use stolen material, Lana decides to take care of Lex herself. Clark tries to stop Lana from killing Lex and a super battle ensues between the two. Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. Source: The CW
  • 09/12 - Thanks to an accident, Lana has Clark's powers! Clark learns what Lana has been hiding from him. Lana behaves a bit recklessly with this power and her behavior disturbs both Lex and Clark. The power-transference inspires a mention of Eric Summers, though sadly, Jimmy's not around to hear about his lookalike, as Aaron Ashmore is not in this episode. Don't expect Kara to save the day in this one, either... Laura Vandervoort is also not in this episode. Source: KryptonSite

Episode 7.08: Blue
Airdate: November 15, 2007

  • new 10/29 - Clark hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara (guest star Helen Slater), calling for help from Kara's crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-El's warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-El's ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl) manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe and Lex each discover Lois and Grant have been seeing each other and warn them to stop. Kristin Kreuk, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. Source: The CW
  • 09/30 - One-time Supergirl Helen Slater returns for her second appearance as Lara in this episode. Source: KryptonSite
  • 09/19 - One of the high-profile guest stars that has already been announced for Season Seven makes a return appearance in this episode. Clark encounters a new color of kryptonite in this episode. Source: KryptonSite

Episode 7.09: Gemini
Airdate: December 13, 2007

  • 10/14 - Chloe and Jimmy are stuck on an elevator with a bomb, and Jimmy really doesn't understand why Chloe uses her one phone call to contact Clark. The "Gemini" in this title refers to a new experiment Lex is working on, much like Project: Ares and Project: Mercury before it. This episode has enough twists, turns, and surprises, you'd swear it was a season finale. Laura Vandervoort (Kara) does not appear in this episode. Source: KryptonSite
  • 09/30 - "Gemini" is not so much of a holiday episode per se, though story elements pertaining to the holidays do occur this time around. It's a backgound part of the story kind of like how the holidays fit in to the first Die Hard or Lethal Weapon movies. There are some very big revelations in this episode, including the return of a foe from the past. (No, not Brainiac - he's coming later.) Look for some changes for at least one of Smallville's Season 7 couples in this one. (For those of you keeping track at home, those couples include Clark/Lana, Lois/Grant, Chloe/Jimmy, and Jimmy/Kara.) Source: KryptonSite
  • 09/12 - No details on this one, but apparently the CW has announced that the December 13 episodes of Smallville and Supernatural will be holiday-themed. Source: KryptonSite

Episode 7.10: Persona
Airdate: January 2008

  • 10/14 - Clark is so happy about his relationship with Lana that he tells her he feels like he could fly. James Marsters returns as Milton Fine/Brainiac in this episode. (That is, unless he appears sooner than that...) Lex has a major new business venture. There is another Kryptonian hidden somewhere on Earth, posing as a human as their alien nature has been taken away. Something like Professor Yana on Doctor Who, it sounds like. Source: KryptonSite

Episode 7.11: Title Unknown
Airdate: January 2008

  • 10/14 - Executive producer Al Gough reveals: You will see Chloe in quasi-Watchtower mode around Episode 11. You'll discover that she is still doing odd jobs for Oliver and the gang on the side. Source: TV Guide Online

General Spoilers:

  • 10/17 - Executive producer Al Gough reveals: [Clark will not join the Daily Planet staff this season.] Eventually [Lois and Kara] will [become friends]; she is, after all, Clark's cousin, and Lois has a soft spot for the Kents. [Clark should start to develop feelings for Lois near the end of the season.] Source: TV Guide Online
  • 10/17 - There'll be a major November-sweeps showdown in the Fortress of Solitude that involves Clark, Kara and two Kryptonians to be named later. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
  • 10/14 - Executive producer Al Gough reveals: We are sticking with [the "No Tights, No Flights"] policy as far as Clark is concerned. (Obviously Bizarro can fly as well as Kara.) But following up on what Chloe said about his lack of flying in the season premiere ("Clark, you need to get on that"), Kara will be giving him "flying lessons" later in the season. Although with Clark, they end up being more like "falling lessons." [...] You'll see Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Bizarro, and the return of Brainiac and the Green Arrow... as well as a future hero to be named later! [...] [There will be a major character who will at least start on Lex's side.] There may also be someone on the show who is currently on Lex's side and we don't know it yet. [...] Clark's journey this season revolves around his struggle between his Kryptonian heritage and his earthly upbringing, and dealing with his cousin - which ain't easy! Kara will give him an insight into his family (which is seriously screwed up) and his birth planet (which went boom, so there was something seriously screwed up there as well). He will grapple with his past and his future. And now that Lana is back, will he finally realize that this relationship, no matter how hard he tries, is ultimately doomed? Stay tuned. Source: TV Guide Online
  • 10/14 - While the new editor in chief of the Daily Planet seems like the picture of perfection, you might want to think again. There's something dark behind those pearly whites. Source: Kristin on E!Online
  • 10/14 - Let's just say that two words will leave [the new editor]'s jaw on the floor: Lana's resurrection. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
  • 09/26 - Producer Al Gough [revealed that] "Lois is going to get a job at the 'Planet,' which puts her in contention with Chloe." Gough also spilled some super-scoop on this season's Clana reunion: "She knows the secret, all the cards are on the table, so we're going to play their relationship honestly. But now that she's been married to Lex and that relationship has scarred her, the question becomes, 'What sort of secrets is she bringing to the relationship?' You will definitely see some reversals. You'll definitely see a darker Lana." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
  • 09/26 - When Lana returns to Smallville, she will be making the Kent farm her permanent residence. Look for some good Clana kissing soon after Clark finds out Lana is alive. Reliable insiders tell me-and the CW confirms-that James Marsters is returning for four episodes of the superseries during the new season. We last saw Marsters's character, Dr. Milton Fine (aka Brainiac), in Smallville's fifth season finale. While it's unclear exactly how James is returning, I can tell you he's reprising the exact same character, he's returning to set very soon and his episodes begin airing in January. Source: Kristin on E!Online
  • 08/22 - [Miles] Millar stated in no uncertain terms that Lana would be back, and would, for the first time, take a shot at an actual relation with the young man of steel. [...] Aside from the Lana revelations, Millar made reference to the return of a mysterious and deadly villain but only teased the identity. Source: BuddyTV
  • 08/17 - Kristin Kreuk has signed on for the upcoming season and Lana will definitely be back. Lana's salvation involves cloning. Source: Kristin on E!Online
  • 08/14 - Kara, aka Supergirl, and the Martian Manhunter are both aware of each other from the past and they, to say the least, are anything but friends. Sources tell me there is a showdown between Kara and someone very close to Clark's heart. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: In another question, it is implied that the "someone very close to Clark's heart" is Lana.]
  • 07/29 - New from the Voices From Krypton Podcast: There will be a reference made to the other "Kara" (from "Covenant") and there might be another confrontation or conversation with Jor-El on the way. Kara will be more of a presence than Green Arrow, and she'll be in at least half of the episodes of the new season. If there is a Season 8, she'll still be around. Look for tension and conflict between Lex and Lois. Clark MAY fly in Season Eight. Source: KryptonSite
  • 07/29 - Phil Morris (aka Martian Manhunter) [...] will be back next season along with old and new Justice League members. Green Arrow will be back next season, but not until mid-season. The first of next season's arcs belongs to Supergirl and Bizarro Clark. Source: TV Squad
  • 07/29 - Supergirl will give Clark flying lessons. Lois will get more and more involved at The Daily Planet. Source: BuddyTV
  • 07/23 - The latest edition of TV Guide reveals: Watching over Kara is "another step in Clark's journey," creator Al Gough told TV Guide. "He's no longer in child mode. He's given responsibility over someone else." Kara has strength, speed, and X-ray vision... plus she can fly. "He's got to keep her out of trouble and make sure she doesn't use the abilities for the wrong reason," Gough says. Also in danger in Season 7? Lois. "They're still far from their romantic destiny, but you'll sense that they care for each other," Gough says. He says that Lois will become more of "the Lois Lane we know from the Superman mythology" as she continues to develop as a reporter, landing at the Daily Planet. The new character of Grant Gabriel, Lois's Daily Planet editor, will have more than a professional interest in Lois. Armed with the Planet's journalistic credibility, expect Lois to take on the Luthors. "This of course puts her in various stages of danger, much to Clark's chagrin," Gough says. "After all, hell hath no fury like a bald billionaire scorned." The Justice League may show up again, but Gough says that it will not be happening in the first eight or nine episodes of the season, and that they will most likely show up individually, rather than as a group. "And hopefully we can introduce some new members," Gough says. Source: KryptonSite
  • 07/04 - Kristin Kreuk is still in contract negotiations with the show. It is possible she does not come back. Source: SpoilerFix BuddyTV Spoilers Chat
  • 05/24 - On Michael Ausiello's latest Vodcast, John Glover (Lionel Luthor) spilled the beans that Martha Kent is definitely moving to Washington and therefore, Annette O'Toole would not be back next season as a series regular. Ausiello confirmed that she will probably pop up occasionally as a guest appearance. Also, according to Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Chloe is not really dead. That has NOT been confirmed. Source: The Ausiello Report
  • 02/14 - Michael Rosenbaum reveals: I think next season will definitely happen. [...] Next year will be my last year. I had a great run. I loved it, but that will be it for me. I think other people have longer contracts. I’m not going to say who, but I know that next year is the last for me. So, it will be very sad when it happens, but all good things must come to an end. Source: Kristin on E!Online
  • 02/10 - Alfred Gough reveals: Martian Manhunter will be an ongoing presence this season and perhaps into next. There are a finite number of Zoners, or so we are led to believe. But who knows, there may be more! Source: TV Guide Online
  • 12/07/2006 - Alfred Gough reveals: [Jonathan Kent will probably not appear again. If we get a 7th season,] we'll just keep moving [Clark's] journey towards Superman further and introduce other DC comic characters. Source: BuddyTV

SHREK THE THIRD NOW AVAILABLE

SHREK THE THIRD AVAILABLE ONLINE

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE SHREK THE THIRD FROM IMDB

When Fiona's father and King of Far Far Away passes away, the clumsy Shrek becomes the immediate successor of the throne. However, Shrek decides to find the legitimate heir Artie in a distant kingdom with his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots to be able return to his beloved house in the swamp with the pregnant Fiona. Meanwhile, the envious and ambitious Prince Charming joins the villains of the fairytales plotting a coup d'état to become the new king. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE SHREK THE THIRD FROM DVDTALK

  • The cast of characters continues to expand in "Shrek the Third," the latest rowdy adventure in the ever-amusing fairy-tale-spoof series. A petulant young King Arthur and a baffled old Merlin are among the new arrivals, while princesses such as Snow White and Rapunzel -- previously referred to but not given much screen time -- get a chance to demonstrate their unique skill sets. (We knew Snow White could summon birds with her voice. Who knew she could make them attack by singing Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song"?)
  • This outing looks toward the next generation, as Far Far Away's King Harold (John Cleese) is dying, and he's named Shrek (Mike Myers) as his heir. The ogre doesn't want the gig, though, and defers to Plan B: a royal nephew named Arthur (Justin Timberlake) who is presently a gawky teenager who gets picked on even by the Dungeons & Dragons geeks. (Shouldn't there be a joke about playing Dungeons & Dragons at a time when there really ARE dungeons and dragons?) Artie doesn't want the job either, once he learns how hard it is, so Shrek has to persuade him, lest he be saddled with it himself.
  • Meanwhile, Shrek's beloved wife Fiona (Cameron Diaz) is pregnant, sending more ripples of panic into Shrek's green heart. Ogres aren't known for their nurturing, fatherly attributes, after all. Sure, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and the dragon have spawned a litter of happy, if horrifyingly freakish, donkey-dragon hybrids. But is there any hope for a pair of swamp-dwelling ogres?
  • Meanwhile (there is a lot of meanwhile in this movie), Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) is enduring nightly humiliation playing himself in a bad dinner theater play. Determined to seize the throne once and for all, he rallies all the other fictional losers -- Captain Hook, Snow White's wicked queen, various witches, and so forth -- and stages a coup while Shrek, Donkey, and Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) are off looking for Arthur. Fiona, Queen Lillian (Julie Andrews), and their bickering princess girlfriends are tossed into prison.

Written by Anonymous

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE DRAGON WARS FROM DVDTALK

  • South Korea is a land of unparalleled beauty and rich cinematic language. Now why would they want to screw all that up by making an extraordinarily dreadful fantasy picture to compete in the worldwide film market? The short answer is money (perhaps the only answer), but the reality is that America does just fine making cringingly terrible special-effect extravaganzas, so back off, South Korea!
  • "Dragon Wars" (or "D-War" for those with less imagination) is a 70-million-dollar action spectacle in the vein of "Lord of the Rings" or, more accurately, a monster-budgeted episode of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." The film takes the viewer into the world of poor CGI and no-talent actors, hoping to weave a tale of mayhem so noisy, crowds won't notice the whole shebang barely makes sense, approaches continuity as a mere suggestion, and features nothing in the way of recognizable excitement.
  • Certainly kids will take to "D-War" with a more open mind. After all, the film is intended for those with an unlimited reservoir of big-screen forgiveness. Only a child could ignore the casting of vacant pretty boy Jason Behr in the lead role (my word, is that guy one horrible actor), keep up with a script that's pretty liberal passing around head-spinning mythical nuggets, and follow a plot that frankly I found completely baffling. Something about gigantic snake-like "Imoogis" and humdrum prophecies. Ah, who cares, really. It's all just used to eat away screentime before the titular battle heats up.
  • Now, when the dragons start to bust a move, "D-War" doesn't reach for epic intentions, just earsplitting chaos. Director Shim Hyung-rae piles on the explosions and crashing helicopters, futilely trying to out-Bay his American competition. Clearly the action would be far more effective and thrilling if "D-War" didn't suffer from a low-budget simplemindedness and muted visual ambition that usually mucks with Sci-Fi Channel movies ("D-War" will live a long life on a double bill with "Mansquito"). It's an Asian director trying to duplicate western nonsense, absent the crucial ego and glossy technical support afforded to the knuckleheads we have making movies here.
  • Watching the "Imoogis" wage their city-toppling campaign against man, spying Behr literally executing some "smell the fart" acting moves, and furiously trying to imagine what the hell "D-War" must've looked like in script form (assuming they had a script), I wasn't so much offended by the lack of quality of "D-War," just amazed that a filmmaker would put such effort into a losing proposition. Call it B-movie cheese or a perfect pre-teen matinee diversion, but one could never accuse "Dragon Wars" of possessing an ounce of legitimate fun.

THE KINGDOM NOW AVAILABLE

THE KINGDOM NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE THE KINGDOM FROM IMDB

When a terrorist bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international incident is ignited. While diplomats slowly debate equations of territorialism, FBI Special Agent Ronald Fleury (Jamie Foxx) quickly assembles an elite team (Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman) and negotiates a secret five-day trip into Saudi Arabia to locate the madman behind the bombing. Upon landing in the desert kingdom, however, Fleury and his team discover Saudi authorities suspicious and unwelcoming of American interlopers into what they consider a local matter. Hamstrung by protocol-and with the clock ticking on their five days-the FBI agents find their expertise worthless without the trust of their Saudi counterparts, who want to locate the terrorist in their homeland on their own terms. Fleury's crew finds a like-minded partner in Saudi Colonel Al-Ghazi (Ashraf Barhoum), who helps them navigate royal politics and unlock the secrets of the crime scene and the workings of an extremist cell bent on further destruction. With these unlikely allies sharing a propulsive commitment to crack the case, the team is led to the killer's front door in a blistering do-or-die confrontation. Now in a fight for their own lives, strangers united by one mission won't stop until justice is found in The Kingdom. Written by Universal Pictures

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE THE KINGDOM FROM DVDTALK

Note to Hollywood filmmaking preachers: we know the "enemy" is just like us, and that we share the same hopes and fears...we get it! "The Kingdom" is a 70-million-dollar lesson in the obvious, costumed up as a brainless action film, but still preoccupied with teaching a master class in being grotesquely manipulative and shamefully transparent.

When a suicide bombing takes down an American community located in the heart of Saudi Arabia, a small FBI taskforce (Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, and Chris Cooper), led by Ronald Fluery (Jamie Foxx), is sent in to investigate the remains of the blast site and hunt for the terrorist group responsible. Now inside the country, the freedoms Ronald and his team are accustomed to have been restricted by a new chain of command, forcing the elite squad to use their own tricks and methods of communication to locate the source of the hostility, putting their own lives in the line once enemies find Americans digging around foreign soil.

In several cringing ways, "Kingdom" covers the exact same ground as 1999's "Three Kings." Both films have a lust to be both a strident political statement and jingoistic action blockbuster, but I'm not convinced the mix should be allowed, or perhaps I haven't seen a filmmaker talented enough to pull off such a dichotomy. Here, the director is Peter Berg ("Very Bad Things," "The Rundown," "Friday Night Lights"), who has yet to meet a sickening camera quake or cheap audience-baiting tool he didn't like. Berg is a seasoned vet when it comes to "of the moment" movies, but that doesn't make him competent. It just makes him twitchy and chaotic.

"The Kingdom," however, doesn't offer much chaos for Berg to push around. If you read elsewhere that "Kingdom" is "non-stop action," you have my permission to slap that writer in the face. The picture is actually quite a sluggish production, playing like "CSI: Saudi Arabia," and taking its time trying to pack an elaborate sand castle of a plot containing political intrigue and procedural minutiae. Led by a subtle, refined performance from Jamie Foxx, "Kingdom" has moments of triumphant suspense and affable Team USA bonding, complete with Bateman as the clichd wisecracking wuss.

Trust me when I write that you've seen this movie before. You've heard this dialogue. You've seen these performances. As a selection of commentary on Middle East politics and social graces, "Kingdom" is not offering anything novel, and what's here is barely of interest. Berg can tart up the film with nauseating shaky-cam work and orgasmic gunfire, but the only ingredient that's going to make the film as relevant and powerful as it is in Berg's head is innovation. "Kingdom" is woefully short-sheeted in that department.

THE BREAK-UP NOW AVAILBLE

THE BREAK-UP NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

HERE IS THE SUMMARY FOR THE MOVIE THE BREAK-UP FROM IMDB

  • In Chicago, the art dealer Brooke Meyers feels not appreciated and neglected by her immature husband Gary Grobowski, who is partner of his two brothers in a tourism business, and decides to break-up with him to make Gary misses her. Gary misunderstands her true intention, both follows the wrong advices of family members and friends, beginning a war of sexes with no winner. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

HERE IS A REVIEW FOR THE MOVIE THE BREAK-UP FROM DVDTALK

The Movie:
  • Starring the latest celebrity couple to be wholly and completely overexposed by the tabloid media, "The Break Up" opens with a scene that will amuse anyone from the South side of Chicago. Gary (Vince Vaughn) sits next to Johnny (Vaughn's BFF Jon Favreau) at Wrigley Field in Chicago. As the Cubs make it obvious on the field that they're not going to the Series in October, Johnny proudly stands up and displays his Sox jersey to those sitting behind them.
  • As Gary takes in the loss, he spots Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) sitting down the row. He verbally forces (as Vaughn is capable of) a hot dog down to her. She doesn't want one. He talks her into it. Despite the fact that she's there with someone, he literally gets in her way as she's trying to leave the game and verbally steamrolls her, telling her that, in fact, the guy that she's with isn't the right guy for her. Does he succeed? The montage of photos of the Aniston and Vaughn characters under the credits show that, yep, he did.
  • As we learn about the two, we find that they couldn't be more different. He's a tour company guide (and Vaughn's scenes on the bus are priceless; he'd make an ace guide if he ever gives up the whole acting thing), while she works at an elite art gallery. She cooks (Chicagoans will notice that Vaughn brings in a Treasure Island bag early on), cleans and notes how he doesn't listen to her or thank her. She hates his video games (one of the funniest scenes in the movie has Vaughn's character yelling at a little kid via an XBOX Live headset), as well. The movie is certainly one-sided, making Gary almost entirely to blame (although she's wrong for not liking video games - who doesn't like video games?) for the problems in the relationship.
