Episode 4.04: The Metamorphosis

  • 11/04 - As Summer tries to return to the celebrity-loving-gossip girl she once was, she realizes that making the trip to Brown may have changed her forever. Fortunately, Seth continues to be supportive of the new Summer through all her endeavors. Similarly, Ryan empathizes with Taylor and surprisingly helps her out of her bind. Meanwhile, Julie and Kaitlin make attempts to stay out of trouble but both cannot resist the temptation to add a little spice to their lives. Special Guest Star: Chris Pratt.   • 10/18 - [Taylor's and Ryan's] little flirtation begins in the fourth episode, which, I have to say, is one of my favorite O.C. hours ever. I especially loved the opening sequence, which chronicles Summer as she powers through the five stages of grief. It's unlike anything the show has attempted before, and I don't think I'm overselling it when I say it's a triumph of writing, directing and music. It's ingenious. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

  • 08/19 - Ryan accompanies Taylor to a meeting with a French-speaking lawyer. Most of the scene will be in French with English subtitles. It seems that she got married (!) with a French man named Henri-Michel and now wants to divorce. Via his lawyer, her husband demands that she comes back to France and says he doesn't want to divorce. The lawyer says that to be legal in France, one of the parties must have been unfaithful or both must agree to divorce... Seth visits Summer at Brown. He is not allowed in a town meeting because he is not a student. Kaitlin along with Brad and Eric Ward meet a man in a sketchy parking lot in order to get fake IDs. Episode 4.05: The Sleeping Beauty

  • 11/11 - When Taylor learns that Ryan can't sleep, she comes up with her own therapeutic plan to help him get over his insomnia. Meanwhile at Brown, Summer and Che take their activism to a new level, resulting in more freedom than they expected. Kaitlin, after being served by her own mom in tennis lessons, volleys back at Julie but helps save the dating service. And when all of Taylor's schemes backfire, she turns to Kaitlin for help with Ryan and in the end gets her way. Special Guest Star: Chris Pratt.   • 08/29 - Julie and Dr. Roberts seem to be no longer a couple as Julie wakes up with another man in her bed. Kaitlin is please that Julie has a new party-like life-style as it means she has less time to watch her daughter. During a tennis lesson, Kaitlin hits on her 25-year-old trainer and is not pleased when Julie is interested in him too. Summer, Amber, and Che, try to save some bunnies from science. Episode 4.06: The Summer Bummer

  • 09/11 - Kaitlin goes to a water polo match at Harbor School. After seeing that Kaitlin is friends with Eric Ward, who is part of the team, two girls try to bond with Kaitlin to get info on their secret crush. The two girls are friends with Queen Bee Riley, whose boyfriend is also in the team. Riley bosses the two girls around and has them organize part of her sweet 16 party if they want to attend. Only "hot" and popular people are invited, meaning a lot of people are left out. Therefore, Kaitlin decides to throw a party the same night... Julie and Kirsten are still in the match-making business. Sandy and Kirsten tell a little white lie to get out of something: they say they'll renew their vows. Gordon Bullit, who heard of the "news," hires a Justice of Peace so he goes to the Cohens to have them properly renew their vows. Summer is in Orange County, Che may have accompanied her.   • 10/10 - In Episode 4.08, it's clear that Julie is involved with Bullit. Frank Perry is brought in to very Kirsten's and Julie's books. What he tells in front of Kirsten is something totally different than what he tells to Julie in private... which will lead to Julie wanting Frank to keep his mouth shut.   • 10/19 - Ryan gives Seth advice about Summer. At Harbor High, we meet Ms. Tidey, an English teacher. In her class are a bored Kaitlin, as well as Brad and Eric. The trio are listening to new student Will Tutt (played by Chris Brown) giving an oral presentation about "Call of the Wild."   • 10/31 - Remember the Episode 4.04 spoiler where I dished that Taylor got married to a French man and now wanted divorce? Well, we will meet him in Episode 4.10. Henri-Michel, a 30-year-old intense man with long greasy black air who is awake all night smoking cigarettes and reading Sartre. The title of Henri-Michel's novel about Taylor is "A Season for Peaches." So Taylor's name in the book is "Peaches." It does look like Seth asked Summer's hand in marriage.   • 10/30 - Sandy drops by Ryan's new place of work. There he chats with another customer and Ryan about a new hot book... unknowing, until Ryan tells him, that it's based on Taylor. Julie sets a meeting between Kirsten and a man named Ken. Henri-Michael and Taylor take part in a French TV show.   • 09/03 - Chris Brown is taking his act from the big stage to the small screen. The R&B sensation, who's been touring with Ne-Yo and a rotating roster of youthful hip-hop stars, is set to join another sprightly cast this fall. "I'm gonna be on 'The O.C.,' "a smiling Brown revealed Wednesday at the MTV Video Music Awards media forum at Radio City Music Hall. The singer says producers for the show contacted his management, and Brown jumped at the opportunity. The Virginia native is set to appear in approximately seven episodes of the fourth season of the drama, which begins shooting in October and airing in November. [...] "I play, like, a band geek — I'm really stepping out of my own character," he said. "I was kind of a geek in school, grade-wise. But style-wise, I was always popular and cool.
